Halogen, LED and energy-saving lamps were tested for the March edition of "test" magazine, due to be issued on February 24. The top rating in the energy-saving lamp test went to the 20 Watt OSRAM Dulux Superstar Mini Ball. Two more compact fluorescent lamps and one LED lamp from OSRAM were among the 20 energy-efficient lamps tested, and each of these products was also rated "good".

The German product-testing foundation Stiftung Warentest summed up its findings as follows: "The compact fluorescent lamps rated 'good' are brighter and better value for money: the best marks went to the OSRAM Dulux Superstar Mini Ball costing 11 euros." According to the foundation, this lamp's "very good price/performance ratio" had stood out in the tests. Other key points in the lamp's favor had been the low electricity costs thanks to its high luminous efficacy, the very long service life and the particularly warm light (2,500 Kelvin).
Christian Schraft, Head of Consumer Lighting at OSRAM, said: "We did our homework and are now overjoyed with the excellent test result. Not only do we place high quality demands on our products, but we are also and above all taking the new labelling requirements very seriously and have designed all OSRAM lamp packaging to be as informative and transparent for consumers as possible."
