Osram is expanding its portfolio of LED lamps with a number of innovative products and thus giving its customers what is yet its largest selection. The current range encompasses some 60 different lamp types. Apart from retrofit lamps in classical shapes, the new LED portfolio also includes reflector lamps. With our expanded LED portfolio, we have LED lamps to suit every purpose at a very good price/performance ratio. Customers save money and get good quality, said Peter Dobiasch, head of the Lamps Business Unit at Osram.

OSRAM LED Superstar Classic B was chosen as the winner in the candle-shaped LED light bulb category from the German consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest in the magazine “test” (September 2012).

With the Ledriving retrofit bulbs (LED bulbs with classic sockets), Osram offers a particularly design-oriented lighting solution for vehicle interiors. These can be used in the car boot, in the instrument control panels, for glove box lighting, as well as for floor lighting and reading lights. If the warm white color temperature (4000 K) version is used, Ledriving bulbs complement halogen bulbs like Night Breaker Plus. In the cool white version (6000 K), they are the ideal interior upgrade to modern bluer halogen bulbs like Cool Blue Intense as well as Xenon solutions.

Up to 30 percent more light on the road and a cone of light that is up to 20 metres longer Xenarc Silverstar receives design award at the IAA.
Light manufacturer OSRAM from now on offers the brightest Xenon-headlight bulb worldwide. When compared to standard Xenon bulbs, Xenarc Silverstar is able to generate a beam of light that is 20 metres longer than that of conventional bulbs and provides 30 percent more light on the road. At the International Motor Show IAA in Frankfurt the Xenarc Silverstar was awarded in the "Automotive Brand Contest".

Energy savings are often the most important factor in new lighting solutions. OSRAM’s Dulux L HE compact fluorescent lamps with plug bases achieve a light output of up to 100 lumens per watt. In addition to that their long operating life means lower maintenance.

Halogen, LED and energy-saving lamps were tested for the March edition of "test" magazine, due to be issued on February 24. The top rating in the energy-saving lamp test went to the 20 Watt OSRAM Dulux Superstar Mini Ball. Two more compact fluorescent lamps and one LED lamp from OSRAM were among the 20 energy-efficient lamps tested, and each of these products was also rated "good".

From the indoor and outdoor lighting to the floodlights and from the lighting for catering establishments to the illumination of parking lots: OSRAM products such as high-intensity discharge lamps, T5 and T8 fluorescent lamps and LEDs are to be used in all of the ten statiums that are set to host world cup matches. Of all the components OSRAM will be supplying to South Africa, the LED-illuminated arc known as "The Arch" will be the highlight, featuring over 12,000 Golden DRAGON Plus LEDs and spanning the entire Durban stadium.

The new Oslux from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is brighter and smaller than ever before and provides extremely uniform light thanks to a chip fabricated in state-of-the-art UX:3 technology. Together with an optimized lens it not only ensures that the LED is 50 percent brighter than the predecessor model but also that the light is much more evenly distributed and can therefore illuminate a wide area.

The latest generation Xenarc headlamp series from OSRAM has a particular advantage over conventional xenon headlamps: Xenarc Cool Blue Intense lamps produce a bluish-white light, which provides a very high-contrast light on the road and makes cars look great at night too. Its light is not filtered by coating the outer bulb but is coloured due to a new lighting technology. This increases its efficiency and light output.
